| A great find for the vintage U.S. Military binocular collector! Has two sets of mounted Polaroid filters with a side control to rotate one filter with respect to the other, and each set rotates at the same time. This should gradually lighten or darken the incoming light that goes to your binocular objectives. However, these are old and the filter material has deteriorated so they do not lighten or darken. There are light rings around each filter and the Polaroid effect hardly works at all. Manufactured by Beck-Lee Corporation, this M1 filter assembly attaches over the eyepieces of the M3, M6, M8, M9, and M13 6x30 U.S. military binoculars (those without eyeguards). The front side of the assembly is labeled FILTER M1, Stock No. 7691956, and PAT.S PEND. Each unit measures 4" wide x 3 3/4" high x 1" deep, with black-enameled metal frame with dual 3/4" diameter yellow glass filters, knurled focus tabs, and 1/4" rear wells with ten metal pressure tabs for press-on application of the assembly. On the original card (no box). SNL Stock No. F210-5800226, circa July 1945. Nice military collectable. Supplies are limited. |
