| Looks like a telescope, but not a clue how they were used. We were told that they came out of some spectrophotometers. Made by Infrared Industries of Santa Barbara CA. The unit is 11-1/2" long by 3-1/2" diameter. Clear objective lens diameter is 2". Coated optics. Image thru the eyepiece end is inverted and very small. There is a lever that slides the internal optics thru the tube that gives the system a different focal length, and at the same time adjusts the variable iris. May be that in its intended application, the f/stop needed to be the same. Heavy duty metal construction (the wall is 1/4" thick). Clearly an expensive item, and a real bargain at our price especially if you can get creative with it. |
