Mounted glass mirror flat 9-3/4 inch clear diameter with no center hole but oblong center section is not polished. Mirror is 1.5 inches thick. Oblong section is 5-3/4 inches by 3-3/4 inches. Coating is breaking up. Mounting is such that the mirror stands either perpendicular or at 45 degrees. See photos. We get nice straight lines with our 1/20 wave flat. Mirror mount is very impressive and incredibly expensive. Weighs 89 pounds. Only have one.
Our understanding is that they were originally made for and used by the government's Los Alamos Scientific Lab and may have been hand polished at the Univ of AZ in the 1970's. Clearly our military paid many thousands of dollars for these.
